History

After owning a bakery in Florida, Lanis Ford decided to move to Michigan and purchase a gas station in 1966. But he knew he wanted to do more than just run the station. After managing the station for some time, he realized there was a real need for quality delivery services. That’s when he bought his first fuel truck and started delivering fuel to his customers right from his own fuel tanks.

As his business and family continued to grow he began training the next generation of Oakland Fuels leaders. Together, they’ve continued to provide excellent service with industry best pricing for an ever widening service area.
